I was responsible for creating and building the Quickes Traditional Cheddar brand worldwide.

As Commercial Director of Quickes Traditional Ltd, I set up Alliance des Fromages Anglais Ltd as a trading entity in co-operation with Wyke Farms, Cheddar makers, of Somerset and Long Clawson Dairy, Stilton makers, to export British cheeses into continental Europe and elsewhere. I chaired the business for its first year. It is now a highly successful business with a multi-million pound turnover.
British Cheese Awards
I was a founder Director and Company Secretary of the British Cheese Awards which we started with the distinguished international cheese expert Juliet Harbutt. The Awards have grown ever since, and now have over 800 entires a year. They have been instrumental in promoting the image and quality of British speciality cheese which has enjoyed a remarkable renaissance over the last 20 years.
